Arthurs Point Playground

Working with Queenstown Lakes District Council to develop a neighbourhood playground for the residents of Arthur's Point, the project involved ongoing consultation with the local residents to identify their needs and expectations, and working closely with the council to develop a brief and budget.

To ensure the best outcome for the residents within the small budget and an imaginative play environment for the children whilst observing all relevant safety standards.

The design centred around a cubby house with table and chairs built from local materials which was set into the mounding behind and provided possibilities for imaginative play.  Children were provided with play equipment but the design also includes half pipes for sound and interest when used to roll marbles, pea gravel etc.
