Director, Principal Landscape Architect

After graduating from Canterbury University Rebecca completed a post graduate degree in Landscape Architecture at Lincoln University. She then worked in Christchurch as a graduate LA before travelling overseas and working in Australia. In Perth, Western Australia, she was employed by Tract (WA) a large multi national consultancy and then EPCAD as a project LA. Rebecca passed her Associate examination in Australia and became an Associate Member of the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects, becoming a Registered member of the New Zealand Institute of Landscape Architects on her return to New Zealand.

Rebecca has an excellent knowledge of large scale master planning and land development projects. She has frequently been a member of multi disciplinary teams working on large scale projects. This experience was firstly gained in Australia and has been built on in Queenstown.

Since relocating to Queenstown in 1996 Rebecca has been Principal of the Queenstown office of Peter Rough Landscape Architects (PRLA). PRLA has additional offices in Christchurch and Northland. In early 2008 Rebecca established her own private consultancy in association with Joanna Dey. The new company was named Lucas and Dey - Land Ltd.

Rebecca has an excellent knowledge of both the QLDC District Plan and the Resource Management Act as applicable to landscape assessment matters through her experience in the preparation and presentation of landscape evidence for both Council and private clients at Council Hearings and in the Environment Court.

Rebecca is an active leader and contributor in team projects, she has a strong professional ethic and commitment to excellence in service to clients and delivery of project outputs.
